Tyler and Nicole's Wedding!

I'm still trying to catch up.... Last month Tyler and Nicole got married!! It was so much fun to be there and share their special day with them. The night before the wedding we went to a rehearsal dinner in Midway. I love the drive there and the cabin that the dinner was in was awesome! Everyone had the nicest things to say about Tyler and Nicole (not a big surprise!) and I got to finally meet Nicole's family. They are fabulous!

My Mom and Sister flew out for the wedding which was so much fun. I don't usually get to see them mid semester so it was fun! They camped out on the floor of my apartment and just hung out all weekend. I was glad that I don't have classes on Thursdays or Fridays so I got to spend the whole weekend with them.

The wedding was on Friday. They had an open house and dancing later that night. It was good to see everyone!

It was such a great day and an even better visit with my Mom and sister. Not much longer and I'll get to see them again :)

Geez, I'm behind!

I was looking at my pictures and I am behind on updating this. I have been busy and haven't been able to really update since Alyssa's birthday... So here it goes. This is what I have been up to the last couple of weeks....

At the End of September we went to a women's conference on campus. The guest speaker was NIENIE!!! Okay so her name is Stephanie Nielson but Nienie too. You may be asking, "Who the heck is Nienie?" If you are, shame on you :) Ok maybe not but you should check her out. She writes the blog: nieniedialogues.blogspot.com

Stephanie was in a serious plane crash a couple of years ago which burned most of her body. She now blogs professionally about her life and making it through the day to day things in her new condition. It was so great to hear her speak. She was very motivational and her story is truly inspirational. Women's Services had planned for 1600 people to come and view the conference and almost 3000 showed up. I was first in line so we got great seats! It was really amazing!

Erin with Megan's baby, Elijah! He just loved the spots on her jacket.

Julia came with a couple of her friends. Her and Alyssa were SO excited. Stephanie's sister Jane was there too so Alyssa was so happy. She reads her blog too.

Look at how big Elijah is getting!

Megan and Elijah came with us! It was so fun to see them and catch up :)

Her speech was so good. And her and her husband are so cute together, they are truly a great example for how every couple should be!

LADIES NIGHT!!!

Every 6 months my church has a general conference where we get to hear from the general authorities of the church all weekend long! It's so great. I look forward to it every time. Every year since our freshman year we have done a Conference Campout. We all pull our mattresses into the living room and sleep out there all weekend long. It's so much fun and such a great tradition.

Every Saturday Night during conference weekend the men attend a session of conference just for the priesthood. While the boys were at priesthood session we went to Comedy Sportz for a Ladies Night celebration. Admission is half off for the ladies and it's always a great show. It was fun to hang out with just the girls :)

CHECK US OUT!!!

It's been a fun couple of weeks. There are still more pictures to come. I told you, I'm behind!

Alyssa's Birthday Celebrations!

So for Alyssa's birthday we went out to dinner every night that weekend. We started it off by going to Brick Oven. It was just 4 of us but it was still good. We LOVE brick oven :)

There was a balloon man there but he wouldn't come to our table because he said that we were too old. Alyssa couldn't decide what she would ask him to make her but i think she narrowed it down to a gorilla-bear or a panda.

We made a special Sunday dinner. It wasn't the best but it was the closest we could get to fried chicken for a big group.

THEN, Monday was Alyssa's birthday. A BIG group of us got together and went to
Los Hermanos for dinner. It was a lot of fun and there were so many of us that they gave us our own room.
Happy Birthday to Alyssa!

bYu

So I've been at BYU for three full years and have yet to attempt to climb Y Mountain. It is a BYU tradition and something that has to be done at least once while you are here. Well.... I can successfully say that I have done it!! It took me long enough, right?

This summer I decided that it was something that I really wanted to try to do this year. I mentioned it to my roommates and they were on board! Last Friday Alyssa, Erin, Eric and I decided we would hike since we didn't have class in the afternoon. It was a nice day and wasn't too hot outside.

When we started the hike I thought that there was no way I would be able to finish it :) It was steep and I was not used to the altitude yet. There were 11 turns on the hike and I made everyone stop at every single one :) They were all really good sports and helped me keep going. During the hike it was hard but it was so worth it in the end. The view was amazing and the hike was so rewarding.

Alyssa and the view!

Check out that view!

Alyssa really wanted to lay upside down on the Y since it was so steep. I was too scared to try.

A Start to the End

On August 30th I started my Senior year at BYU!!!! I know, it's hard to believe. I feel like just yesterday I started my freshman year. So far the semester is great. I only have classes on Mondays and Wednesdays and I love it! Our new apartment and ward are great and we are really excited about this next year. Last Saturday was the first home football game. I got my tickets with a group of friends and it was so much fun. We won the first game, the second game not so much. That's ok, i'm still really excited about the rest of the games. So far the end is off to a great start!

GO COUGARS!!!
